Hello everyone, this is the official first post for our family life blog: Oddness Lived. Our goal is to connect with other parents and families that have lived life a little on the odd side. There may be some sensitive information that we discuss, but we will always give you a warning before you begin reading. Some things you will see is talk about raising special needs children and showing how life may be lived a little differently, but all the joy is still there.

We are a mid medium class family. My husband and I both work full time jobs. So we will also be posting about some money saving tips, especially with the holidays coming up! (You can actually find a gift guide for toddlers HERE). You will also see posts on addiction, we understand this can be a sensitive subject but healing starts at awareness.

Now, enough with the serious stuff! We are a really fun family with a lot of fun stories to share with everyone. We enjoy camping, exploring, going out to eat, getting creative and most importantly we genuinely enjoy each other’s company 98.7% of the time.

My name is Jaiden and this whole thing was my idea. I currently work as a general manager at a fast food restaurant and connecting with my regulars is honestly one of my favorite parts of my job. I have always been classified as a chatterer. And really loved English classes when I was getting my bachelors degree. So long story short, I think I came to the decision to start a blog naturally.

I grew up as a glass child with separated parents. Even though I was a glass child from my rambunctious little sister, my mom did everything in her power to make it feel like an even playing field for love and attention. I also ended up having special needs children of my own. Most if not all of my posts will involve the family members. Which I will be introducing you to. And everything will mainly be coming from my perspective. However, they are all extremely involved and supportive in this blog process.

We will always be honest with you

While we use this site to share our life experiences with everyone, we want to be transparent that there will also be monetization posts. Under no circumstances we do expect anyone to follow affiliated links or to make any purchases. We’re a big family that has had the opportunity to try a lot of things so there will be a few posts of product recommendations but that will not be the basis of this blog platform.

Everything we talk about will be from true experiences. It will be raw and honest. If you ever have questions, feel free to ask and we will do our best to have an answer for you. Please take into account that we will be honest if we feel there is a moment where a question crosses boundaries. But we still love questions!
